Dr. Sara Kutchesfahani is a Senior Policy Analyst at the Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation and a CISSM research associate. In addition, she serves as the Senior Program Coordinator for the Fissile Materials Working Group (FMWG) and co-editor of the Studies in Security and International Affairs Series at the University of Georgia Press. Kutchesfahani was previously the executive director of the Center for International Trade & Security at the University of Georgia (UGA) and a post-doctoral research fellow at Los Alamos National Laboratory. She’s also held research positions at the Rand Corporation and the EU Institute for Security Studies.

In 2014 she authored, Politics & the Bomb: The Role of Experts in the Creation of Cooperative Nuclear Non-Proliferation Agreements (Routledge). She has contributed to several edited volumes of research on nuclear security, safeguards, and nonproliferation. Her research has also appeared in academic journals and the popular press. She received her doctorate from University College London, where here dissertation focused on how groups of experts knowledgeable in niche issue areas affected nuclear non-proliferation policy formulation. 


The CISSM Global Forum is held from 12:00 pm - 1:15 pm  in 1107 Van Munching Hall College Park, MD 20742.
