CISSM named one of 50 best academic think tanks

January 26, 2017

For the second year in a row, CISSM was named one of the top 50 academic think tanks in the world in the 2016 Global Go To Think Tank Index Ranking. The ranking presents the collective judgment of 2,543 think tank researchers, journalists, policy makers, and philanthropists from more than 140 countries, as well as the Index’s panel of experts.

In announcing the 2015 index, the director of the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program at the University of Pennsylvania James McGann acknowledged the “important contributions” that think tanks make worldwide. “Our objective has been to gain a better understanding of the role that think tanks play in governments and civil societies. Using this knowledge we hope to enhance the quality, capacity, and performance of think tanks around the world.”
