Jonas Siegel is a Research Associate at the Center for International and Security Studies at Maryland (CISSM). He works on CISSM's Nuclear Past, Present, and Future project to investigate the connections between nuclear weapons proliferation, nuclear energy, and global warming. Siegel's other research interests include energy policy and emerging life science research.
Prior to joining CISSM, Siegel was the Editor of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, a nonprofit media organization that focuses on the intersection of science and security. Siegel earned his M.S. in journalism from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. He has contributed to Mother Jones, the Chicago Tribune, and the BBC.
