Yun Zhou

Research Associate

Yun Zhou is a research fellow at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard University and a research associate with the Center for International and Security Studies at Maryland. She completed her PhD at University of California, Berkeley in May of 2006. She has been a researcher at Pacific Ecoinformatics and Computational Ecology Lab and attended the Santa Fe Institute''s Complex Systems Summer School in 2002.

Her research interests focus on risk assessment for engineered systems, human health and ecosystems and impacts of new technologies on society and environment. Her main objective is to help decision makers and the public learn more about risks and mitigate those risks. She has worked on a wide variety of research studies including nuclear material safety under dry storage, human health risk assessment associated with the introduction of genetically modified crops, ecosystem dynamics and biodiversity.
